With the World Cup less than six months away, Kansas City is seeing unprecedented demand for hotel rooms. Official reports indicate that over 90% of downtown inventory is already booked for the key match dates in June and July 2026.
"We expected high demand, but the speed at which rooms are vanishing is incredible," says a spokesperson for the KC Visitors Bureau. "If you plan to be here for the matches, do not wait another day."
While many prime locations are sold out, there are still excellent options available if you act fast. Our team has scouted the city and found availability at the following properties:
Luxury & Boutique
- Kansas City Marriott Country Club Plaza - Located in the upscale Plaza district, offering a premium stay with easy transit access.
- Loews Kansas City Hotel - Limited suites remaining. Directly connected to the Convention Center.
Mid-Range & Value
- Days Inn by Wyndham Independence - Affordable option with good highway access to the stadium.
- Sleep Inn Kansas City International Airport - Great for those flying in, with shuttle services likely available.
Additionally, short-term rentals (Airbnb, VRBO) are seeing increased listings as locals open their homes to welcome the world.
