ConnectKC26: Public Transit and Shuttle Plans Unveiled

To prepare for the influx of global travelers, City officials have launched ConnectKC26, a comprehensive transportation initiative designed to move hundreds of thousands of fans efficiently between the airport, downtown, and the stadium.

The plan involves a dedicated fleet of 215 motorcoach buses that will operate on high-frequency loops. Additionally, the KC Streetcar extension to UMKC is expected to play a vital role in connecting the Fan Festival at the WWI Museum to the rest of the downtown corridor.

Over $1.5 million in infrastructure improvements are also underway, including renovations to bridges and transit corridors like Southwest Boulevard to ensure they are "World Cup ready."

Travelers are encouraged to book their transportation early and utilize the free public transit options available throughout the city. For maps and shuttle schedules, check out the KCATA (RideKC) website.
